Fickle... like pickel... kind of.

Games are a fickle medium. I mean, they are the kind of entertainment that takes the longest to get through, and you (kind of) have some influence in the outcome of the story unlike a movie or book. And I find myself in certain moods that make me want to watch certain movies, (or TV shows) and sometimes certain games... but games can take SO long to get through. If I’m in the mood for some Zelda Ocarina of Time, then I’ve got to be in the mood for the next 40+ hours.

Even still I find myself wanting for certain games. Currently its Zombies Ate My Neighbors... Yeah, that was a great game, my all time favorite, I have decided. I am retrieving my Super Nintendo this weekend from my parents’ house, it has been unused for far too long.

Actually the news that Zombies was up for ESRB rating (and soon to be on the VC) is what reminded me that my SNES is sitting collecting dust. Hmmm dust, a cartridge’s best friend, I really hope mine still works.

Anyway, I have this feeling like I’m not going to play through the whole thing because of the amount of time that game takes… there are like a bagillion levels. I kind of wish more SNES games made their way over to the DS. So I could play them on the go. Then I could plan whole trips around me wanting to be “on the go.” Like, “I have a stack of SNES games for my DS… I should fly somewhere so I’ll have an excuse to play them.
